This is a simple guide on how to deregister from a political party in Kenya. Lately, there have been cases of innocent Kenyans enlisted as members of political parties without their knowledge. The Kenyan election law requires political parties to seek consent before registering someone as a member.

In the event you find yourself registered as a member of a political party that you didn’t apply for, the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties will remove your details using the procedure below.

How To Deregister From A Political Party In Kenya

1) Write a letter of resignation, with your details to the party.

 

2) Attach a copy of your ID to the letter.

 

3) Send a copy of your letter and ID to the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) or scan and forward it to info@orpp.or.ke

 

N/B: The resignation letter MUST be sent to the political party that recruited you. ORPP only receives copies of the same through hand delivery or scanned documents to the e-mail above.
