Felix Odiwuor (Jalang’o) is one of the most popular media personalities in Kenya. By this he is exposed to several income generating opportunities. Celebrities are a hot commodity for companies in Kenya. They pay millions to associate themselves with personalities who will communicate their brand perception to the community of fans.
Jalang’o works at Radio Africa Group which is known to pay celebrities quiet well. His Instagram following of 2.4 million also gives him the opportunity to earn huge income. He post advertisement for many different clients. Recently Felix revealed that on a good month he earns as much as Ksh. 3 Million using his social media.
Currently he is the brand ambassador for a wide range of brands touching from finance, apparel, construction and fast moving consuming goods. His only transcends to YouTube where he is posting contents in the form of interviews and entertainment analysis.
In the first few months after starting his YouTube channel, he was already racking up Ksh. 1.2 million in revenue from the platform. With his current numbers at more than 450,000 subscribers and the millions of the views, the earnings are definitely higher.
Jalang’o has many ways through which he spends his hard-earned money. His love for high end car is real. He just bought a Toyota Land cruiser 200 series and a Mercedes Benz just months apart despite the shrinking economy.
The black Mercedes Benz was his latest acquisition shipped in April 2021. The Toyota Land Cruiser V8, he bought celebrating his return to Kiss 100 in July 2020. These cars are added to his collection which include a Convertible Mercedes Benz, Land Rover Discovery among others.
Shoes are also a big part of Felix style. He is in record revealing the he buys at least 4 pairs every week. This translate to hundreds that he then donates overtime. “My love for shoes started when I joined form 1. My dad had fundraised to take me to school and that’s when he got me my first pair of shoes. I am just compensating for the years I never had shoes. Currently, I have 3,212 pair of shoes. In a good week I can buy as many as four pairs of shoes,” he stated in a past interview.
Jalang’o has also invested in different sectors. He has properties in Coast, his tour and travel company and, a communication firm. His investments apparently are also part of his income streams.
